v1.2 — AI Table of Contents, 400% Zoom & Publisher Ingest API

AI-powered table of contents generation from PDF bookmarks, 400% zoom with drag-to-pan navigation, a publisher ingest API for automated workflows, and per-publication OG image generation.

v1.2 — AI Table of Contents, 400% Zoom & Publisher Ingest API

This release adds three features that power users and developer teams have been asking for since launch: a proper table of contents, deep zoom, and a way to publish programmatically at scale.

AI-Powered Table of Contents

Every flipbook now has a dedicated table of contents panel. For PDFs with embedded bookmarks, ZenFlip extracts the structure automatically. For PDFs without bookmarks, our AI analyses heading sizes and page structure to generate a logical TOC.

Publishers can open the TOC editor and refine entries — add, remove, reorder, rename chapters — without touching the source file. The TOC panel is available to all readers in the viewer sidebar and is fully accessible to screen readers.

Front matter page offset is also detected automatically: if your PDF uses Roman numerals for the first few pages, ZenFlip recognises this and adjusts the displayed page numbers accordingly.

400% Zoom with Drag-to-Pan

The flipbook viewer now supports zoom from 100% to 400%. When zoomed in, readers can drag-to-pan across the page — essential for detailed diagrams, data tables, and dense catalogue spreads that require close reading.

Pinch-to-zoom works on mobile and tablet. Double-tap zooms to 200% and back. The zoom level persists across page turns within a session.

Publisher Ingest API

For teams managing large publication libraries or automated publishing workflows, the Publisher Ingest API lets you publish PDFs to ZenFlip programmatically — without touching the dashboard.

A single API call accepts a PDF URL or binary upload, publication metadata, and optional ad configuration. The API returns a publication slug and viewer URL once processing completes. Webhook notifications fire when conversion finishes.

This opens ZenFlip to CMS integrations, print-to-digital automation, and scheduled publishing workflows. See the API documentation for the full endpoint reference.

OG Image Generation

Every publication now generates a branded Open Graph image from the cover page. When a reader shares a flipbook link on LinkedIn, Slack, WhatsApp, or any social platform, the preview card shows the actual cover — not a generic ZenFlip logo.

Publishers on Creator plans and above can upload a custom cover image to override the auto-generated one.

Auto-Detect Front Matter Page Offset

PDFs that use Roman numerals for introductory pages (i, ii, iii...) are now handled correctly. ZenFlip reads the PDF page labels and adjusts the displayed page numbers in the viewer, TOC, and analytics to match the document's intended numbering.

The ingest API is available on Business and Enterprise plans. See pricing or contact us for API access on custom volumes.
