Paragraph-Aware Text-to-Speech
Reads each paragraph as a separate utterance with natural 400ms pauses. Word-level highlighting tracks the spoken position in real time. Speed adjustable from 0.5x to 2x. Auto-advances between pages.
ImmersiveReader with Dyslexia Support
Full-screen reading environment with OpenDyslexic font, adjustable letter/word/line spacing, 4 color themes (Light, Dark, Sepia, Green), and a line focus mode that highlights one sentence at a time.
AI Vision Processing
Generates descriptions for photographs, charts, and diagrams using computer vision. Three modes: Off, Smart (visual-heavy pages only), and All Pages. Publishers choose the TTS source: native PDF text or AI-enhanced descriptions.
Editable Page Descriptions
Per-page text field in the editor. Auto-populated from extracted text. AI Vision suggestions available with a one-click "Use this" button. Screen readers and text-to-speech use them for pages with no selectable text, such as scans and image-only pages.
AI Chat with Source Navigation
Readers ask questions about the publication. AI answers with clickable page citations that navigate directly to the source. Keyboard accessible and screen reader compatible.
Text View
The whole publication as one accessible web page: headings, paragraphs, lists, and image descriptions in reading order, with a contents list and page markers. Text reflows when readers zoom. Keyboard and screen reader users can always open it; turn on the "Text view" switch to show a button in the viewer toolbar too.

Is ZenFlip built to WCAG 2.2 AA?
Yes. ZenFlip is built natively to WCAG 2.2 AA — no third-party accessibility overlay — one version ahead of the WCAG 2.1 AA standard referenced by ADA Title II. Our VPAT (WCAG 2.2 AA edition) documents the support level for each criterion, including where support is still partial. We also publish a versioned accessibility statement. Legal obligations such as ADA Title II rest with the organization publishing the content, so review the VPAT against your own requirements.
Does ZenFlip work with screen readers?
Yes. ZenFlip uses ARIA live regions, semantic landmarks, role attributes, and descriptive labels. It is tested with VoiceOver (macOS/iOS), NVDA, and JAWS.
What is the ADA Title II digital accessibility deadline?
State and local government entities serving 50,000+ people must comply with WCAG 2.1 AA by April 24, 2026. Smaller entities have until April 2027.
Do I need to manually make my PDF accessible?
ZenFlip automatically extracts text, detects paragraphs, builds word-level maps, and adds ARIA markup. If your PDF is tagged (for example, exported from Word with accessibility tags), ZenFlip also passes its headings, lists, tables, and image alt text to screen readers. For maximum accessibility, you can also edit page descriptions and enable AI Vision Processing for image-heavy content.
What about the European Accessibility Act?
The EAA has been in force since June 2025 and requires accessible digital products across EU member states. EN 301 549, the harmonized European standard, bases its web requirements on WCAG — and ZenFlip is built to WCAG 2.2 AA.
